First stop Queens! As soon as I read that the challenge was poker Chris whipped the car from the left lane to head across Staten Island right toward Queens. It didn't take long to get our first pictures. Of course you need to go through the Bronx to get there, so there's number burro number 2. I looked up that there was a Queen BLVD with a heart hospital near it, so that's the direction that we headed. (We never did find the hospital, so it's a good thing that we didn't need it.) We did find a boxing club and a variety of shapes that can be construed as card symbols. Here are some of our most clever.
Queen of Diamonds |
Queen of diamonds (If you stretch it.) |

Ummm... we're in Manhattan... |

Seriously! Save some money and then add another lane to the road! |
So it was right about here that we hung up the phone with the Honey Wagon, and the check engine light came on. We knew Gene was tricky, but really a cell phone activated check engine light. That's taking competition to the extreme.
This is the first competitor that we came across. They had a faulty fuel pressure sensor. We waited until the tow truck was in sight and then we continued on our way. |
East coast Hollywood |
More competitors. They have a broken CV boot, so we helped them limp it home. |
